Why PiP
Not just another app. A calmer way to organise the village day.
Most platforms solve one slice of village life. PiP connects all four people in the village under one calm system.
Build vs use PiP
Why build from scratch when PiP already connects the village?
For many operators, the real cost is not just software development. It is maintenance, training, compliance, support, integrations, and keeping the system useful across residents, families, staff, and management.

How these numbers are estimated
PiP figures use the supplied PiP pricing model (Connect tier, charged per resident per month on marginal volume bands, so the price scales with village size). The in-house build (around $350,000 first year) and ongoing run cost (around $250,000 / year, roughly two full-time staff plus hosting, support, security and overhead) are indicative estimates and are largely fixed regardless of village size, which is why most single villages do not build their own platform. All figures are indicative estimates based on the supplied assumptions, are quoted ex GST, and are not a quote. Our Connect (lighter-touch) tier is estimated above, Operate (2nd tier) and Assure (premium tier) build on from those costs.
Built with the sector
Sector knowledge, not a generic app.
PiP is being developed alongside affiliated senior-sector platforms with more than a decade of experience across retirement living, aged care, senior services and family decision-making. That perspective shapes the workflows, the language and the calm, senior-first design, not generic software patterns.
Developed in conjunction with Senior Advisor and the Seniors New Zealand family of senior-sector sites.
Category gap
Where existing categories stop on other apps.
| Capability | Typical scope | What's missing |
|---|---|---|
| Community app | News, events, bookings | No staff workflows, no command centre, no property data |
| Activity tool | Calendars, attendance | No family reassurance loop, no operator view |
| Family care app | Reminders, check-ins | Not connected to village operations |
| Clinical [Coming 2027] | Care plans, notes | Not designed for everyday resident or family experience |
| Back-office [Future] | Billing, ORA, occupancy | Invisible to residents and families |
Five differentiators
What makes PiP different.
Senior-first interface
Designed for older eyes from the first sketch, not retrofitted later.
Four portals, one village
Residents, families, staff and operators in one connected system.
Automation with approval
Drafts and summaries that staff review before they go out.
Display Hub
The reception and lounge TV becomes the village's living noticeboard.
Property intelligence
Villa history, warranties and turnovers become operational memory.
